I am nothing more than a carcass shambling through this life
Born into a lifeless existence, dead on arrival
No purpose but to exist

Just left behind

Jaded from life and all it's inconsistancies
Poisoning myself with vices that promise no happiness in the end
A cruel joke from the cosmos that I am forced to play out

Just left to rot

What I was once before
Full of hope, care, and happiness
Lays dead at my feet
How I wish I could be alive again
To be optimistic and thriving
Instead of this husk
Full of hate, dead inside, dead to the world

My only purpose now
Is to carry the burden
To exist in a world
That wouldn't care if I vanished
I may be breathing, but I'm not really living

A body decomposing and yet still alive
Just left to rot

Death cannot come fast enough
I am tired of my time here
I long to be the person I was again
But I know that will never happen
Forever being a cog in the machine
That oppresses my well being
If I could have that chance and take it back
My existence would have purpose again
